HISTORY

Who was the Christiansen family?

The Marjorie L. Christiansen Foundation was originally established as the Arthur J. and Cecelia L. Christiansen Foundation in Racine, Wisconsin, the Christiansen family's hometown. Following their passing, the Foundation was renamed for their daughter, Marjorie L. Christiansen, who became its head trustee.

The purpose of the Foundation was to support the types of charitable organizations the family believed in and to do so for generations to come.

Today, the fund that was begun decades ago has grown. Its trustees' commitment remains to be true to the family's wishes, to support non-profits that work for the overall good of the community and on behalf of individuals who need it most.

“We often like to give to some of the smaller organizations where we feel we can really make a difference," says Head Trustee Scott Stewart.

“I think the family would have liked what the Foundation has become and the organizations we’ve been able to support.”
